On a happier note, I turned 22 this year. I do not feel 22 but I wrote a post about what I have learnt so far in my 22 years of life and that is probably one of my favourite posts of all time. I am so proud of it. I also actually managed to write about Brussels in the same month that I went which is certainly progress. It is a lengthy post for sure but I am extremely proud of that post as well. They took ages to write and I was snapping at my family throughout typing each piece but it was so worth it.
Also in June, my cousin got married and my little cousin turned 8. My nephew turned 4. I reconnected with an old friend which was awesome. It was a friendship that I had more or less written off completely because there is nothing worse than one-sided relationships, but we seem to be on slightly more equal footing now and I have realised how much I cherish my friends. Recently, I have had some family issues and have been experiencing a lot of anxiety. I have become so sensitive to noise and open doors. I feel like I am constantly walking on egg shells and I feel a ball of dread gather in my stomach at impromptu times. The onset is so sudden and often I can’t pinpoint the cause. It’s bizarre and uncomfortable but I am determined to power through it, to keep a positive mindset and focus on all the good in my life of which there is many. Friends are invaluable in times of hardship and celebration so I am going to make more of an effort. I can be so anti-social it’s not healthy so I really want to make a conscious choice to meet as many people as possible.
As I mentioned, I don’t have any beauty favourites. My Mom made me a cake on the weekend after my birthday which was the sweetest gesture. I was so touched, she ran out of icing while making this humongous layer cake so we ended up with a half decorated cake and that is better than any shop bought cake in the world. I don’t think she will ever know how much that means to me, that she would do that, I am terrible for speaking my feelings out loud. I would rather be silent than get emotional, but I hope she knows how much I appreciate her.
What else did I like this month? Kiwis. In Barcelona, I had a strawberry and kiwi smoothie and it is the tastiest drink in the world. I also tried a kiwi mojito which was fantastic. Kiwis are where it’s at. Tea India is my favourite brand of tea and I recently found out that they are discontinuing Vanilla Chai which breaks my heart, but at the same time they are releasing two new flavours: Ginger and Coconut and I have purchased 5 of each so I’ll report back.

I am a beauty blog but with no products to talk about I thought I would share some of my favourite beauty accounts on Instagram instead. Two accounts that are really gorgeous and continuously inspire me are TheRoyalBlue and TheDameOClock. They post gorgeous makeup looks and they are both wonderful people, and no I am not getting paid to say any of that because that would be really sad. They’re just genuinely really great accounts.
Finally, I subscribed to a new YouTuber called Isabella Fiori. She is Australian, 19 years old and so adorable. She is gorgeous and just so cute I want to take her home with you. She seems really nice and personable and her videos have been interesting thus far. Her makeup tutorials are pretty similar, hey we all love a neutral smoky eye, but I think she is just finding her feet. Massive props to her for actually having the balls to start a YouTube channel because I know I couldn’t do it. She is almost at 500K subscribers which is pretty phenomenal. Let me know what YouTubers you watch below as I am always looking for new channels and blogs to follow. YouTubers I have been really loving are Manny MUA and Chrisspy Makeup. One of her recent tutorials, a faux freckle summer makeup look, is completely stunning (you can watch it above). She is a makeup goddess.
Thank you so much for reading, I would love to know what you got up to in the month of June as well and of course any beauty recommendations are always welcome. I would love to know what blogs you love to read and the YouTube channels you follow as well. Leave it all in the comments below, don’t forget to follow me via Bloglovin’ and check out my social media accounts. Take care.
