KYLIE JENNER KYLIE COSMETICS THE BURGUNDY KYSHADOW PALETTE SWATCHES AND THOUGHTS | ALITTLEKIRAN
Kylie Jenner Kylie Cosmetics The Burgundy Kyshadow Palette Swatches and Thoughts
Kylie has expanded her Kyshadow collection, there was the Bronze Palette (post here) and now here is The Burgundy Palette ($42). It was released on October 20th and contains 9 eyeshadows just like her previous palette and similarly does not have a mirror. Her next palette (any guesses on what the next colour theme will be?) she assures will have a mirror. I do really love the art on the front of her palettes, it’s really clever and looks beautiful. Apart from that they seem to be the same level of sturdiness and have a similar layout as the BH Cosmetics palette but it is Kylie Jenner so you are paying for the name and the brand whether that is reflected in the packaging or not, that’s just the way it is. It is, surprise surprise, out of stock right now but it will be back in stock soon.

The pictures above and below show the palette in all its glory. Very fall/autumn appropriate with rich warm shadows in a variety of finishes. The colours all look lovely, to me, I think I definitely am more tempted to buy this than I was for the Bronze palette which I felt held a lot of shades that most of us already own (dupe post for the Kyshadow Bronze palette here). Reds, especially, on the other hand are extremely hard shadows to create and perfect so I think it was brave to do a palette like this one because it also isn’t the easiest to colour to wear.

That being said, the rest of the colours work really well with that red making it not so terrifying. The problem with these palettes as that because it is adhering to a tonal theme it can look almost too similar at a first glance. On opening, I wouldn’t think I could create a really diverse range of looks because they would all tonally be the same. If you love these colours, warm reds, oranges and the like then I think this palette would be an awesome buy for you. If you have green or brown eyes these colours would really emphasise your eye colour, similarly if you have an olive or deeper skin tone the contrast would be gorgeous. Now onto the swatches.
Swatches of the Kyshadow Burgundy Palette from the Jeffree Star Video (watch below). Edited by me.
The swatches can be seen above, this photo was taken from the Jeffree Star video which I will include below because he creates a kickass eye look with this palette and I highly recommend you see the palette in action before purchasing. The swatches arewithout primer and from left to right are: Naked (satin finish golden sand); Beach (matte finish light warm brown), Penny (matte finish warm orange), LA (metallic finish copper), Burgundy (matte finish deep red), Dubai (metallic finish burgundy), Brick (matte finish brick red, like a dirty red), New York (metallic finish warm bronze) and Almond (matte finish reddish brown). Watch Jeffree’s video in full below to see his reaction.
Overall, I think this looks like a gorgeous palette if you like rich warm colours. The swatches definitely impressed me and the mix of finishes are perfect too. You get 5 mattes, 1 satin and 3 metallics. I like that there are more mattes than any other finish as I think that is key for creating multiple looks in one palette. Mattes are a necessity! I do think $42 is steep and with customs charges etc to be able to get it in the UK I can’t say I would buy it for myself. Apart from the price and shipping issues I don’t have anything bad to say. Let me know if you will buy it or have already got it and what your thoughts are on it. I am keen to see what other colours she creates palettes for. I hope she does one for silver/cool tones as I think they get overlooked when it comes to big palettes. Thank you for reading, hope you liked this post. Enjoy your weekend. Take care.
