Shows that I am currently loving on Netflix to take you into the Winter months
A short, somewhat slapdash post today. I hope you’re all having a fab Monday so far, mine hasn’t started brilliantly. I spent the weekend in London and this morning I realised that instead of booking my return for the 5th December (as in today) like a sane person I booked my return for the 2nd January 2017. How that happened I have no idea. Maybe it was my subconscious or a sign that I should move there permanently, who knows, but it has been one hell of an expensive morning. Moving on, I have had this post title in my drafts for a while now as I’ve noticed that not many people talk about shows I watch. And they’re pretty good, so here are three series that you might not heard of but you should definitely give a go.

Currently Loving on Netflix/Recommendations: ARCHER
ARCHER
Not for the faint of heart and with some downright lewd humour, but hilariously funny if you like dry wit, catchphrases and bizarrely attractive animated characters. The plots for each episode are outlandish and unbelievable but will undoubtedly have you in stitches. Try out a few episodes and see what you think, it’s not for everybody but for me it’s one of the funniest shows on the planet.

Currently Loving on Netflix/Recommendations: GRACE & FRANKIE
GRACE AND FRANKIE
Complete turnaround from Archer but a brilliant show is Grace & Frankie and I have to admit the main attraction of this show for me is Martin Sheen, I watched and adored him in The West Wing and just have so much respect for him as an actor. This show is a gem. Two elderly couples who also happen to be lifelong friends go out to dinner when the two males reveal they have been having a 20 year long affair and are now keen to come out so they can get married to each other (because they can do that now). The series focuses on Grace and Frankie, their respective wives, and how they deal with having their world torn apart and navigating the single world when they are pushing 70. Sounds depressing but it is a funny, charming show. Brianna, Grace’s daughter is my favourite character. I just love that it focuses on two elderly women who have rich, interesting, entertaining lives. You honestly won’t find another show like it.

Currently Loving on Netflix/Recommendations: HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER
HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER
I am surprised at how many people are not into this. I am not a Shonda Rhimes fan myself, Scandal and Grey’s Anatomy both bore and infuriate me to tears. I know that’s an unpopular opinion and I am deeply sorry if I offend anyone with my assessment but they just aren’t my cup of tea. HTGAWM, on the other hand, totally my cup of tea. It follows college kids at Smith University who take a law class and start working for their hot-shot law professor, assisting her with cases and whatnot. The series opens with them discussing how to get rid of a body and as the series unfold you find out what happens. I don’t want to give too much away. The first season is the best and definitely worth watching. The characters are flawed but brilliantly developed and complex and although some are annoying af, cough cough Laurel, the others like Connor and Oliver more than make up for it. Brilliant acting and a constantly twisting story line, plus they deal with actual external cases as well as their own fucked up affairs so if you’re bored of their drama you always have other drama to sink your teeth into.

Currently Loving on Netflix/Recommendations: STARNGER THINGS
THE CROWN, BLACK MIRROR AND STRANGER THINGS
All on my to-watch list because I have heard great things about them all. The Crown is supposed to be a beautiful show and my Mum is keen to watch it so I’m sure we will dive into that one together. I love completely messed up shows so I know Black Mirror will be intriguing for me. I don’t know much about Stranger Things at all except that everyone, and I mean everyone, is talking about it. Usually if that many people are talking about it then it’s most likely pretty good. Although, I never got into Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Walking Dead or Making a Murderer. Let me know your thoughts on these shows in the comments. I would love to know if you have watched any of these and if you think I should give any of them a shot. I have an open mind so let me know if you think I am totally wrong and talking out of my ass.

Thank you so much for reading. As I am going to Iceland tomorrow please consider following my blog on Bloglovin’, it’s super easy to sign up and just means you will know when I have posted. I have scheduled posts while I am away and I would be so happy if people actually read them. So please think about it, if you aren’t signed up to yet. It’s free and I don’t make any money from it, it just means I don’t have to stress out as much about promoting my posts. Thank you so much. Take care.
What are you watching on Netflix?
