Becca Cosmetics have done it again but this time with Chrissy Teigen and not Jaclyn Hill. This new limited edition palette, simply called Becca x Chrissy Glow Palette ($46), features three brand new shades including a custom made, new shimmering skin perfector and the existing shimmering skin perfector in Rose Gold, a sunlit bronzer and luminous blush. This warm and sultry palette fits right in with Chrissy’s gorgeous, glowing, natural aesthetic.
The exterior packaging is inspired by Chrissy’s love of Rose Quartz, the pink and gold melting together makes me think of sunsets on the beach; it does look really beautiful. Personally, she wouldn’t be the first person I would think of when it comes to makeup but the team behind Becca are a savvy, smart, on-the-ball bunch and they can recognise a cash cow when they see one. It is of course already out of stock, because who doesn’t want to look like Chrissy Teigen? If you don’t know who she is, Chrissy Teigen is a model and author of a cookbook, she is also married to John Legend and appeared in his music video of ‘All of Me’.
Although it is out of stock, Becca will be restocking as soon as possible. I am not sure how long they plan to be selling it for but my guess is that it will depend on demand. It will be available to purchase in the UK on June 1st in both Cult Beauty and Space NK for £48, so you can still get your hands on it even if you don’t live in the US. Sephora do international shipping as well.
Onto the inside of the palette. There are the two shimmering skin perfectors: Beach Nectar which is a brand new apricot gold and Rose Gold, the pre-existing subtle gold with rose undertones. There is also a brand new blush and bronzer created by Chrissy Teigen. The Luminous Blush is called Hibiscus Bloom and is a bright golden pink coral . The Sunlit Bronzer in Malibu Soleil is described as a medium amber hue designed to mimic the warmth of a beach tan. You can see swatches below:
The swatches are all gorgeous warm beachy shades, most flattering on the medium skin tone in my opinion. On really pale skin I worry this palette might be too warm but on any skin tone that has even the slightest hint of a tan this palette could be really flattering making it the perfect holiday companion. The bronzer, however, barely shows up on the darker skin tone but all in all the rest of the shades are very flattering. Lighter skin tones will struggle to use the highlighters as they are so gold and warm but they could easily be mixed with others in your collection to create a custom shade.
Overall, do I think this palette is worth it? No. Is it pretty and beautiful? Yes. I felt the same way about the Champagne Glow Palette by Jaclyn Hill and it is still one of my go to face palettes for the Amaretto blush alone, so I could be completely wrong about this one too. I love Becca formulas, although their Shimmering Skin Perfectors are a little too glittery/shimmery for me. I think the inclusion of a bronzer is a nice touch and if you are in the marker for an all-in-one palette to keep you company on the beach then this might be a great option for you. I would love to know your thoughts on this latest limited edition release and if you plan to buy it, so share with me in the comments. Thank you for reading as always. Have a gorgeous day and I hope you have a brilliant week ahead. Take care.
What do you think of the palette, is it similar to Jaclyn’s, will you buy it?
