A short little review of an even shorter lipstick. The Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick (£17) in the shade Mercy was given to me as a gift from a dear friend who works there. It is a cute little miniature and I am obsessed with the packaging of this lipstick. The multi-faceted bullet and pure black hue is just ridiculously cool and I do have a weakness for anything super tiny and adorable. Kat Von D isn’t a brand I have tried much from, I bought her Lock It Powder when I went to the States in January but Kat Von D is now readily available in the UK thanks to Debenhams. Truthfully, aside from the powder Shade and Light Palette I haven’t been all that tempted by Kat Von D products. I know she has some great colourful palettes but they always seem to be limited edition, her Tattoo Eyeliner and Liquid Lipsticks have a cult following but neither of them appeal to me. So I was thrilled to try this cute product especially as it is in such an autumnal shade.
Mercy is described as being a romantic garnet berry shade, I was surprised to find that the finish is not matte at all. There is actually quite a noticeable shimmer in the formula that reads as silver which threw me off a little. I prefer solid shades but think this would be really cool at night or as part of a more statement look. The claims state that the lipstick has a ten hour lasting power and I did not find this to be the case, this could be because it is not a long-wearing matte so is to be expected. It rubbed off quite easily and did transfer. In addition, it isn’t all that flattering on me and is the kind of lipstick that requires a commitment to a full glam look. Lashes and all. I do think it is cool and unique and I don’t own a shade even close to it.
Thank you for reading, please give me your giveaway suggestions. I want to do something really special for all of you who read my blog. So I am keen to take your suggestions on board, tell me what you want! Alternatively, I could giveaway a gift card if that is something people would prefer? Just let me know which store, giftcards would have to be to a UK store I am afraid though, whereas a product giveaway would be international because I know a lot of my readers are from all over the world which is the coolest thing ever. Hope you are having a great week. Take care.
What is your favourite lipstick?
Love ❤
