5 RECENT MAKEUP LAUNCHES THAT I AM NOT EXCITED FOR FT. KAT VON D MORPHE JEFFREE STAR FENTY BEAUTY | ALITTLEKIRAN

There are a lot of people who feel similarly burnt out by the sheer amount of new products being released every single day, not to mention the new brands that pop up constantly. Have you heard that Millie Bobby Brown is launching a beauty brand, currently known on Instagram as @florencebymills where part of the proceeds go to the Olivia Hope Foundation. I believe Lady Gaga is also coming out with a beauty brand: Haus Labs. It is just a lot. So instead of reviewing and discussing new launches, I thought instead we would take a break from that and I would share launches that haven’t peaked my interest and also detail why I, personally, will not be buying them.

This post is not to belittle anybody or any brand, these products are just not to my to taste or are not something I am willing to spend money on for reasons I will explain. If you feel like there are too many releases to keep up with, especially as bloggers or makeup enthusiasts please share your thoughts with me in the comments below. I truly find it exhausting at times, it is crazy that just mere weeks after the Jackie Aina Palette (full post here) was announced the Norvina Vol 1 Palette was announced shortly after. The ABH x Jackie Aina Palette isn’t even in UK stores yet!

Kat Von D True Portrait Light Medium Coverage Foundation ($36) The first launch I want to talk about is the True Portrait Foundation. I know there is some controversy regarding Kat Von D and her past. I am not sure how I feel about it all to be honest, I think when people continuously forgive and forget for certain people but can’t extend that same courtesy to others it leaves me slightly uneasy. Basing this purely on the product, I rarely pay for high end foundations, I think many affordable brands have created great foundations for my particular skin type, L’Oreal Infallible Pro Matte and Maybelline Super Stay Foundation to name just two.

I actually watched Nicole Quinn’s Review of the Kat Von D True Portrait Foundation and it does sound quire nice in case you might be interested. It wears really well and most importantly doesn’t appear to settle much into fine lines or smile lines. It is a true medium coverage and has a demi-matte finish. You can watch the full video here.

Morphe x Jeffree Star Artistry Palette (£35) Rainbow and colourful palettes are all the rage, I know, but this doesn’t appeal to me whatsoever. I understand this is to bring the Jeffree Star’s brand at a more affordable price point but I am not interested. Jeffree Star products, from his brand, rarely appeal to me and this is no different. I already have colourful palettes, such as the B Perfect Stacey Marie Carnival Palette  and am happy to mix shades to create the hue that I want.

Fenty Beauty Brow MVP Ultra Fine Brow Pencil & Styler (£17) I don’t do anything to my brows, the only brow product that tempts me is brow gel. The brush here is a little odd to me too, again it is not a product I would spend more money than I have to on. Especially as if you are in a habit of doing your brows often this would be a repeat purchase and rack up quite the expense. There are definitely more expensive products out there such as the Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil but equally there are many that are much cheaper such as the NYX Micro Brow Pencil.

Too Faced Tutti Fruity Watermelon Slice Face and Eye Palette ($42) This launch actually upsets me, I adore watermelon, the scent, the taste, the colour, everything. I spend several minutes daily searching for watermelon lip balms and trying to convince myself to buy the Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturiser (£19.50) and Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask (£20.50) from Glow Recipe. The Watermelon Slice Palettes from Too Faced allegedly smell like Jolly Rancher, what the hell is that? Plus, the colours although swatch beautifully are boring to me.

Il Makiage x Carli Bybel Collection ($15-21) Like brows, I can skip on the more expensive lipsticks, lip liners etc. I think the colours, the embossment, the packaging are all stunning. I love Carli Bybel, she is beautiful and kind and I enjoy her content. She comes across as a really genuine person, but like I mentioned these products just aren’t something I would go out of my way to purchase as I would get little use out of them. There are plenty of less pricey lip products I love like the NYX Suede Matte Lip Pencils, Morphe Colour Pencils and NYX Butter Glosses.

Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed this post. I recently got a lash lift so in a few weeks expect a post on that. This weekend, I am going away but I will have a foundation review up this Sunday. On the 6th September I am going to Japan but I will try my best to have at least one post per week up on my blog while I am absent. I would really appreciate it if you visit back during that time. Hope you are having a wonderful week so far, leave a comment regarding what beauty launches you are interested in and the ones you would pass on. Take care.

What beauty launches do you want and which will you pass on?
